Our framework of programs is modeled after the national Marriage Savers organization, founded by Mike McManus in 1986 in Modesto, California.  The main emphasis of Marriage Savers has been to facilitate the adoption of Community Marriage Policies that involve entire communities and local clergy joining their efforts to revitalize marriage.  In April, 2004 the Institute for Research and Evaluation reported “divorce rates fell 2% more a year in 114 cities/counties with community marriage policies compared to similar cities in each state without a policy, or 14% in seven years.”  Research has determined that pro-marriage activities such as those that we are providing here in S.W. Indiana have real potential to change the culture of marriage and divorce at the community level.
